Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Corelly ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application (the "App") and the associated physical Corelly button.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name
• A securely hashed password

Device information

To deliver push notifications, we collect:

• APNs (Apple Push Notification service) device token
• Platform identifier (e.g. iOS)

Usage data

To provide the core functionality of the App, we store:

• The family group(s) you belong to
• The Corelly buttons you have provisioned (name, configuration, last seen status)
• Notifications history (timestamps, button identifiers, seen acknowledgments)

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi data

During the initial setup of a Corelly button, the App temporarily uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with the button and send Wi-Fi credentials to it. The Wi-Fi password you enter is sent directly to the button over a short-range BLE connection and is never transmitted to our servers or stored by us.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Authenticate your account and secure your session
• Deliver push notifications when a button is pressed
• Display your family group, buttons, and notification history
• Improve the reliability and performance of the App

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any third-party marketing purpose.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data with the following service providers strictly for the purpose of operating the App:

• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — to deliver notifications to your iPhone
• Scaleway (cloud infrastructure provider, based in France, European Union) — to host our backend services

These providers are contractually bound to handle your data confidentially and only on our behalf.

4. Data retention

We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal information, family memberships, button configurations, and notification history associated with your account are permanently deleted from our systems.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from the App's Settings screen
• Withdraw any consent you have previously given
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

6. Children's privacy

Corelly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and short-lived authentication tokens. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
